Promotion Parade - Dana Gidlow
Thurs May 15, 20:00 Hrs FYA
Dana Gidlow promoted to LCOL
Dana Gidlow, former Deputy Commanding Officer of the Royals, has been promoted to LCol and
appointed Liaison Officer at Land Forces Central Area (LFCA).
Dana will be the LFCA Liaison Officer to Land Forces Directorate Training Systems (LFDTS).
LFDTS is located in Kingston, Ontario. In his new assignment, LCol Gidlow will work between
the LFCA HQ at Downsview and Kingston.
Dana has more than 30 years experience in the Army Reserve, starting as a Cadet in 2736
"Batoche Coy" Army Cadet Corps. Enlisting in The Royal Regiment of Canada, he later
became a Sergeant, then an Officer in the Royals.
Training with the Reserves has undergone many changes recently and is now focused
on the weapons and tactical skills our soldiers will need for their potential
employment in Afghanistan. In his new appointment, Maj Gidlow will play a key role
to ensure Reserve soldiers in Ontario are trained to meet this requirement.
Ontario has by far, the largest number of Reservists in Canada.
We wish Dana great success on his new assignment.

Royals:
On Thursday March 20th, BGen G.R.Stafford, the Deputy Commander of LFCA visited The Royal Regiment of Canada in order to make two major announcements on behalf of the Commander of LFCA that directly impact the Regiment.
In the first of these, he announced that, Major D. Gidlow will be appointed to a Senior Staff Appointment at Land Force Doctrine Training Systems (LFDTS) in Kingston Ontario. Promotion the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel for Maj Gidlow is to follow.
On behalf of the Regiment and all of the members of the Regimental Family, I would like to take this opportunity to thank Major Gidlow for his many years of dedicated service to the Regiment. I would also like to take this opportunity to congratulate him on his impending promotion and wish him luck in his new appointment.
In the second announcement, BGen Stafford announced that, LCol Cliff Trollope will be appointed as the next Commanding Officer of the Regiment . The Change of Command parade in conjunction with the annual Sorrel Day parade will take place on 8 June 08.
