62nd ANNIVERSARY OF ASSOCIATION
In 1943 returning members of the 1st Battalion began to meet in the Sergeants'
Mess to preserve friendships and to keep informed about the Regiment overseas.
From this start, the Association was incorporated in 1952 and grew to more than 2,500
members in the 60's at the time of our the Regiments 100th Anniversary.
A Veterans Guard marched on Parade when new Colours were presented by The Princess Royal,
our Colonel-in-Chief in 1962. We still have about 1000 members on our mailing list, including
Veterans of WW II, Korea, Bosnia, Afghanistan, and other UN overseas missions.

ANNUAL PARADE FOR 2736 CADET CORPS
The 42nd Annual Review Parade for 2736 Cadet Corps was held at Fort York Armoury
on Thursday 26 May 2005. An important part of the Regimental family, the Corps is known
as "Batoche" Company.
This year the Inspecting Officer was Major Robert Lyon, CD, the Commander
of Central Region Cadet Detachment.
The Royal Regiment of Canada Band played throughout the parade and added a lot
of class to the ceremony.
The Cadets were well turned out in their uniforms
and their standard of drill was excellent.
Major Lyon praised the Commanding Officer, Capt Luc Laverriere, for his leadership and skill
managing the Cadets during the year. He thanked the Officers and Civilian Staff for their r
ole in the success of the Cadets.
There were many parents and friends who attended to see their boys and girls on
Parade. During the Ceremony Cadets were presented with a number of achievement
awards and promotions.
Joe Ryan presented four Association Scholarships.
Two were Bill Hardy Memorial Scholarships and 2 were in memory of BGen Forbes B. West.
During the summer, many Cadets attend Blackdown Summer Cadet Camp at CFB Borden
for two or six week courses. Parents tell us they notice a big difference in their
Cadets after just a short period of Training. They say they are more self-confident
and have higher esteem. They set priorities and organize their time better.
Parents are very proud of their Cadets.
2736 Cadet Corps receives financial support from:
The Kiwanis Club of Toronto Branch 266 Maple Leaf Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion
The British Airborne Forces Association
Tthe Royal Bank of Canada
The Royal Regiment of Canada Association
The Royal Regiment of Canada Foundation.

SORREL DAY 12 JUN 05
The Sorrel Memorial Day Parade this year was combined with the Regiment's Change
of Command Parade.
In a colourful ceremony, LCol Walter Perchal, CD took over command
of the Regiment from LCol Vijay Sharma, CD.
The parade was held inside Fort York
Armoury and everyone was pleased to see many members of the Regiment dressed in Full
Dress Scarlet. There is a long way to go before everyone has Scarlet, but this Parade showed
that the will is there to maintain our important traditions.
Colonel Gary Stafford, CD,
Commander 32 Brigade, was the Inspecting Officer and presided over the Change of Command.
The Pioneers & Grenadiers performed their display of period drill and the Band led the
Parade dressed in their White Tunics followed by the Regiment.
Cadets from 2736 Cadet Corps were well turned out in their Cadet uniforms and marched
smartly on parade. There were a larger number of Officers on parade than in past years
and this added to overall impression of a strong Regiment, the largest in 32 Brigade.
To everyone's enjoyment, the Messes were open to the Guests after the Parade.
Former members were able to enjoy the social surroundings where they spent so much
of their time when they served with the Regiment.
